Sliding Scale Prices

Massage is not luxury anymore, but if the money is the only reason not to come, here is our offer:

Consider this:

Many thanks to Alexis Cunningfolk who created this model. Much of the language below, as well as the image of the jars, is Alexis’ work.

With this structure, I’m hoping to decrease the stress of deciding how much to pay, while attempting to make our services more accessible.

There are 3 price options for each length appointment. We are happy to talk over email or an other form about which price is right for you if that would be helpful. You’ll have the option to pay with Venmo or Zelle before or after your appointment, and you’re also welcome to bring in cash, check, or credit/debit card at the time of your massage. All of these options allow for you to pay the rate that’s right for you.

Please read the quick descriptions of the highest, lowest, and middle costs:

THE HIGHEST COST reflects the actual cost of the session. It’s the cost we would charge everyone in the absence of a sliding scale.

If you have access to financial security, own property or have personal savings, you would not traditionally qualify for sliding scale services. If you are able to pay for “wants” and spend little time worried about being able to financially secure necessities like food, shelter, medical care, childcare, etc., this price is for you.

60 minutes: $75
90 minutes: $115
120 minutes: $155
30 minutes: $45

THE LOWEST COST acknowledges that economic circumstances can prevent people from getting bodywork unless opportunities are deliberately made for them to access services at a rate reflective of their economic realities.
If you struggle to maintain access to housing, food, healthcare, and childcare, are living paycheck to paycheck, or are in significant debt, this rate is for you, and we will honor this price as an equal economic offering. If this amount is still prohibitive, we are happy to work with you on an extended payment plan or at a lower cost.

60 minutes: $40
90 minutes: $55
120 minutes: $75
30 minutes: $20

THE MIDDLE COST reflects the fact that paying the full cost might prevent some people from coming in whose circumstances don’t match the description for either end of the scale.

If you are struggling to overcome debt or to move away from paycheck-to-paycheck living, but you have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs like food and shelter, this rate is for you. If you, however, can ask others for financial support, such as family members, partners, or friends, please consider using those resources before you use the resources of the sliding scale.

60 minutes: $70
90 minutes: $90
120 minutes: $130
30 minutes: $35
